SAP FICO Functional Consultant

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Understand business needs and changes to assess and identify impacts of those changes.
  • Capture, analyze, translate, and document business requirements.
  • Prepare and document functional specifications for enhancements and/or configuration requirements in collaboration with other IT teams as needed.
  • Use your expertise and experience in this field to collaborate with other team members and end users, providing solutions that fit the current needs of the company as well as the longer-term strategy.
  • Perform configuration, unit tests, manage integration and user acceptance testing and to coordinate implementations on change requests.
  • Provide Level 1 and 2 support for the production SAP environments.
  • Assist Business on Month-End closing with any issues in respect to deadline.
  • Provide extracts to Internal and External Audit upon request.
  • Review and assess application future release functionalities and emerging technologies to identify integration issues and impacts from application change requests.
  • Design, build, implement and support business enterprise applications and activities related to SAP FICO, including configuring SAP and integrated third-party applications, integrating SAP functional, technical development, solution expertise and support capabilities of FICO globally.
  • Investigate best practices and participate in the selection & implementation of technology solutions.
  • Plan and execute all activities of implementation and support of applications by understanding project implementation/support methodologies and tools based on company standards.
  • Interact with the non-information technology-related business areas to identify requirements and requests to help prioritize, scope, implement and support solutions
  • Drive continuous process improvement with the use of technology solutions by demonstrating value-add propositions and effective communication of IT value to the business.
  • Design, develop, and deploy SAP functions associated with financial operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset management, Treasury, projects
  • Configure SAP FICO systems to meet business requirements, including connection points with SD, MM and third-party applications.
  • Execute SAP FICO projects and manage the offshore / onshore team by defining requirement, functional specification, and working with IT in realizing change.
  • Proactive in identifying business pain points and assessing how SAP solutions can improve efficiency, troubleshooting technical issues in SAP FICO, and interacting with Finance and IT teams to resolve and evaluate functionality enhancements. Experience with configuring SAP FICO systems to meet business requirements
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Manage team members, drive Operating review metrics and report

Required Qualifications/Professional Experiences

  • You hold a university degree in business administration, accounting, finance or information technology.
  • 15+ years of experience in designing, developing, and testing SAP functions associated with financial operations to include: general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset management, projects and Treasury
  • At least 10 years of experience in executing SAP FICO projects by defining requirements and functional specifications, working with IT to realize change, and working with Finance users in testing and training.
  • Must have a good understanding of the integration points between FICO modules and other areas within SAP such as SD, MM, Treasury, Assets, Projects;
  • Must have good understanding of interfaces, working with EDI, Idocs and third-party integrations.
  • Experience in writing functional requirements and technical specs, Test Plan, Test results.
  • Experience with BPC an asset
  • Experience with Workflow an asset
  • Advanced Excel experience an asset

Preferred Qualifications/Professional Experiences

  • English required, bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Work schedule from 5AM CST-1PM CST
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to deal with difficult situations as well as manage customer expectations and adapt communication style as needed.
